Hello, I’m back!

M and K SF city hall wedding

Hey guys! I’m so sorry it’s been a while since I’ve posted. I swear I’m still here, still doula-ing, still learning/studying. It’s just been a REALLY busy summer. I’m finally coming up for air though and want to update you on what’s been going on.

First of all, I had so many summer clients. In fact throughout May-August I supported 18 families as they brought their babies earthside. Yes, I said 18. Yes, it took me a while to recover. Yes, I’m okay :).

I also trained to become a postpartum Ayurvedic care specialist. I’m working with a wonderful woman based here in the Bay Area and it’s been eye-opening to learn the ways of Ayurvedic healing in the postpartum period. If you’re interested in that, reach out!

Secondly, I got engaged and married all in less than two months (check out some of my favorite pics below). Talk about major life events happening all at once! It was a whirlwind, beautiful two months and I can’t believe I get to call myself a wife. We got married in July in an intimate, private ceremony at SF City Hall on what would have been my mom’s 58th birthday. We were surrounded by 25 of our immediate family and closest friends and it was very special. If I could, I would relive that day every day.

We held our reception with a wider group of friends and family in Oakland in August. That party alone took me three days to recover from. Such a blast!

Between that and all my clients (plus a bachelorette party for one of my very best friends, who is also an extremely talented floral designer who did our wedding/reception flowers) I’ve barely had any time to do anything else.

I’ve got some big goals this fall, including finally finishing my childbirth education certification. Mostly, I’m going to continue living in the moment and being super grateful for all of the wonderful things going on in my life right now.

What are your plans for the fall? Tell me in the comments!

xo,
Katelyn
